Feeling down in the dumps? Blue? Now’s the time to do something nice for yourself.
Pamper yourself. Whether you’re a man or woman, you deserve treats once in a while. You don’t have to wait for a special someone to come along and pamper you — pamper yourself! Make time for yourself. You’ll feel better, relaxed, refreshed. Try something you’ve never tried before. Enjoy!
It doesn’t have to cost a fortune to treat yourself and treats are best when they don’t cause you a great deal of anguish later when the bills become due. Not all of the following suggestions will fit into everyone’s budget – choose the one or more that suits you.
Herbal wraps are popular and while women have more ease requesting these treatments, men will find them just as soothing and beneficial.
Massages must be tried at least once in a lifetime! Once won’t be enough, but if you’ve never treated yourself to a relaxing facial massage or (even better) full body massage, you are missing one of life’s inexpensive luxuries!
Pedicures will make your feet feel so good. For maximum effect, combine a pedicure with a manicure. Men, don’t deny yourself this treat at least once in your life!
Manicures are relaxing and make you feel better about yourself. Why not do them weekly?
Change your hair color if you’re looking for some drama. Highlights, lowlights, toning, coloring gray, frosting, blonding, weaving, foil wraps, are all part of the color process. DON’T do a permanent color on a whim – once the color is in, it is difficult to remove. There are plenty of shampoo-in colors available, ask your hairdresser. Making a dramatic change in hair color or style is not suggested if you’re in a depressed mood.
New computer technology offers a chance to preview colors and hair styles before taking the plunge. The best part of a computer preview? If you don’t like the results, you don’t have to wait until your hair grows in or grows back.
Men, most of you already know changing hair color isn’t reserved just for the ladies. A more subtle approach is suggested, however.
Looking for a way to get in shape and meet people at the same time? Join an exercise class. Think exercise is too much work and not enough pampering? Well, perhaps. But you’ll like the results! Jazzercize is another enjoyable exercise option.
Buy yourself some jewelry. If you’re waiting for someone special to buy it for you, it might not happen. Treat yourself. “I enjoy jewelry,” says one lady with the right attitude. “My husband is gone, my family is provided for, and whenever I see a ring or bracelet that I like, I buy it!”
Have plenty of jewelry but not particularly happy with all of it? Consider having less sentimental jewelry melted and designed into something new. Diamonds and other gemstones will gain a new usefulness sparkling contemporary settings.
Have flowers delivered to your home. It doesn’t have to be a special occasion. Stop at the local florist and get a big bouquet of flowers. Share some with a friend.
Buy fancy stationary and a pen with colorful ink. Write letters to friends (even if they live close by). Send friendship cards.
Pack a bag and take a trip. Visit a neighboring town, check into a nice hotel, treat yourself to a meal in a nice restaurant. Indulge in late night movies on HBO. Visit local points of interest. Find out when special events are happening and schedule your trip accordingly.
Make an appointment for glamour photography. Indulge your fantasies – try on the fanciest outfits.
