I asked myself, what did I want from a woman – age, body type, personality, etc.? To my surprise I realized I wasn’t interested in women who were a lot younger than I was because we had nothing in common.
I finally defined (after much thought, mind you) the perfect woman for me:
- She should be 30 years up to my age of 42 but not older!
- No smokers, please, and I don’t want a woman who drinks too much.
- She needs to be at least a seven on a scale of ten. Now, don’t get ruffled, ladies, you too can use the scale to measure us. Just remember, there is no such thing as a ten!
- I also want a woman who can think and express herself well.
- She needs to like sex and cooking, but not necessarily in that order!
- I prefer someone who is loving and nurturing and a bit more domestic as opposed to a party girl who likes to shop!
My perfect woman – I know, there’s no such thing, but if there was – would be a female version of a good ol’ boy – a woman who will love me, take care of me and rock my world at night. (Guess what, guys, the ladies want the same qualities in their men!)
Now that I know the type of woman I want I can just go out and find her, right?
Wrong!!
But that’s another story.
FAL Note: The writer of this article has found his “perfect woman” and is now happily married for a second time.
From a reader comes this response:
What a breath of fresh air to read your true feelings and finally realize that 80% of the men feel and think like you do, in fact how women do.
You mentioned that you were brought up not to cry, well we were brought up not to allow men to cry. Thank God we have both learned alot. Thank you for your thoughts.
I am not your “perfect woman.” I smoke and I really am a party girl, no flirting, virgin image but enjoy life. But I believe that there will be someone out there for you.
Today is my 26th wedding anniversary. We have been divorced for 3 years and you know I have spent alot of time in the closet in tears and in life but now it’s time to start living.
Have a great Valentine’s Day. What we have to learn is to love ourselves not depend on someone else to love us, so send yourself a dozen roses. You deserve it.
